Joy Maloney is running as a write-in candidate for the Broad Run seat on the Loudoun County School Board.

Joy was a high school mathematics teacher for five years prior to entering the information technology field, where she continues today as a software developer for a government contractor. She holds a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Hood College, and a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education from University of Maryland, College Park.

Joy’s daughter began the sixth grade at Eagle Ridge Middle this fall after five years at Mill Run Elementary. Joy's husband of 19 years, Joe, works at a CPA firm in Chantilly. Joy has lived in the Broadlands for the past ten years, and the DC metro area for the past 35 years. Joy has been active in the community including volunteering for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Sterling Playmakers, and the Loudoun Summer Music Fest.
